The Land

Srilanka  lies  10 degrees north of the equator and south and east of India .It is separated  by the Gulf of Mannar, Palk bay and Palk Strait. It is narrowest point , between the Indian mainland and the Jaffna Peninsula ,is less than 80Km wide. There is evidence of a natural land bridge  connecting  SriLanka with India at this point has vanished causeway ,only a few meters  below sea level is still known as Adem’s Bridge.
